TOMMY LANGFORD LOOKING TO CUT DOWN FORMER EUBANK FOE SWIERZBINSKI IN QUICK TIME IN TITLE DEFENCE‏

WBO Intercontinental Middleweight Champion Tommy Langford aims to take out his challenger Robert Swierzbinski in quicker time than rival Chris Eubank Jnr did.

The hard-hitting Bideford ace, who fights out of Birmingham, makes the second defence of his title against the Polish hardman on Saturday 19th December on the massive Manchester Arena card.

Unbeaten Langford is rising fast through the 160lb ranks and now aims to make a big statement against Swierzbinksi who fought Eubank Jnr last May.  Eubank dropped him seven times but couldn’t deliver a conclusive punch to finish him off with the referee eventually called a halt in the seventh round.

Langford says he’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t knockout Swierzbinksi in quicker time than Eubank Jnr as he looks to confirm his position as the next big star in the division.

“To be honest I won’t be happy with my performance if I don’t stop him,” stated Langford.

“I’m setting my personal standards high and if he went seven rounds with Eubank I definitely want to finish him off in half that time,”

“David Lemieux finished him off in a round, I’m not saying I’ll do it that quick, but I want to make a good statement with this fight,”

“He seems to get hit and dropped, but he has this resilience to keep going and seems to get stopped on his feet rather on the canvas so once I land and floor him, he’ll stay down,”

“He’s open to big counter punches and I’m looking to take him out.”
