Tim-Robin Lihaug (10-1, 5 KOs) has reason to celebrate. The Norwegian super middleweight star, who recently secured his tenth professional victory, has entered the WBO world rankings at number 14.

‘’It’s an honour to be ranked so highly with the WBO,’’ said Lihaug, who currently holds the WBO Youth World title. ‘’They are one of the big four governing bodies, and it’s a dream come true to see my name so high in their list of world ranked fighters.’’

If the Bergen-boxer continues his progression, he could soon be in a position to challenge for the prestigious WBO World Super Middleweight title, which alongside current champion Arthur Abraham, has been held by boxing greats including Thomas Hearns, Chris Eubank and Joe Calzaghe.

‘’Time is on my side so there is no need to rush,’’ said the 22 year-old on a potential world title challenge. ‘’I’m still young and still learning. Of course, one day I would love to challenge for the WBO World title, but right now I just need to take it step by step, fight by fight.’’

Said promoter Nisse Sauerland: ‘’Tim’s ranking is a testament to his hard work and sacrifice. We will now look to build on this and manoeuvre him into a position to challenge for bigger titles.’’

Lihaug is back in action at the Nordic Fight Night on March 14 at the Ballerup Super Arena in Copenhagen against an as yet unnamed opponent. Tickets are available viabilletlugen.dk.
