CARSON, CA Six months since his first loss, Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez 46-1 38KO’s has gone from the top of the mountain to virtually ignored in pound for pound talks.

Srisaket Sor Rungvisai 42-4-1 38KO’s pulled off the unlikely and controversial upset of the year in what was supposed to be a showcase fight before an eventual rematch with Carlos Cuadras whom also won albeit unimpressively on the same undercard.

Armed now with a Super-Flyweight division in flux, K2  and Teiken promotions have come to the score settling rescue; setting up the most exciting mini-man mini tournament in decades aptly named Superfly.

“This was my first loss but on Saturday night I will prove that I’m the better fighter.” Said Gonzalez whom still believes Sor Rungvisai was the beneficiary of a gift decision. “A fighter that headbutts will always do that we don’t expect him to change we are prepared for him” Gonzalez said about Sor Rungvisai’s penchant for head clashes that caused two large cuts above both of Gonzalez’s eyes.

Sor Rungvisai knows that Gonzalez will be more comfortable fighting in Los Angeles in front of an adopted home crowd “I need to fight great again in order to be victorious against Roman, I’m sure he will be ready to take back his title.”

In the co-main event Naoya Inoue “The Monster” 13-0 11KO’s makes his American debut against #7 ranked contender Antonio Nieves 17-1-2 9KO’s. “I’ve very grateful to fight in America on this outstanding card.” “I’ve seen Nieves fight and know he is coming to win, I must fight at my best to be victorious.” Said Inoue about his first fight across the Pacific.

Opening the triple header of the HBO telecast Carlos “Principe” Cuadras 36-1-1 27KO’s faces  Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada 35-2 25KO’s in what could be the fight of the night. Cuadras held a rubber chicken in his hand during the final press conference, telling the media “He’s been scared of me for years, Estrada, a true chicken.” “He’s never wanted to fight but on Saturday I’m going to win and then I want to fight for my title again.”

Estrada, once gave Chocolatito all he could handle in a fight if the year contender didn’t appreciate Cuadras’s antics saying “Cuadras talks too much, always talking but can’t back it up.” “I’m going to turn him into a Princess from a Prince on Saturday night.”
