Sor Rungvisai Leaves No Doubt in KO of Gonzalez

CARSON, CA. Srisaket Sor Rungvisai 42-4-1 38KO’s left no doubt and left it out of the judges hands with a four round destruction of former pound for pound champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez 46-1 38KO’s.

Early signs that Gonzalez wasn’t all the way back following the loss of his trainer Arnulfo Obando were apparent in his pre-fight body language and it showed in the ring. Coupled with a noticeable loss of knockout power with the rise to 115lbs. The chocolate one just didn’t have the firepower to topple the Thai champion.

In the fourth round a hard hook sent Gonzalez down hard, rising at the count of seven a glassy eyed and visually hurt Gonzalez did what he knows best, return fire. Another hard shot from Sor Rungvisai put Gonzalez down again for good in a brutal knockout scene that stunned the sold out Stubhhb crowd. Sobbing and cries could be heard from the passionate Nicaraguan fans that came out to support their hero.

“I’ve always respected Chocolatito for being the best pound for pound fighter in the world, but tonight I proved I could beat the best. I won this fight in the gym I only trained 2 months for the first fight this time I had a full training camp. I was confident I would win. Inside of the ring we have to fight but outside of the ring we are friends, we are both boxers. I’d like to say I’m sorry because we are both athletes and I never want to see anyone get hurt.” Said Sor Rungvisai.
