Formidable WBC bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (21-0-2 / 16KOs) will face tough Thai world ranked No. 1 and former super flyweight Champion, Suriyan Sor Rungvisai (37-5-1 / 16KOs), defending his green and gold belt that he conquered in 2011, by knocking out Mexican Christian Esquivel.
This seventh samurai defence, was announced at Grand Palace Hotel, in Tokyo. The event was organized by Teiken Promotions.
Yanamaka, also known as “God´s left ” for his veritable southpaw KO power, was presented with the Best Boxer of 2013 in Japan award. He also won the Knockout of the Year 2013 prize presented by Japan’s Boxing Commission and Association of Professional Boxing.
On the other hand, which is only right, Thai, Suriyan Sor Rungvisai, became WBC super flyweight world champion when he defeated Mexican Tomas Rojas on points in Thailand in 2011. This will be his second appearance in a Japanese ring. On his first vitsit he was defeated by Japanese Yota Sato, loosing his championship at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo in March 2013. Since this bout Sor Rungvisai has not lost.
