Fight fans will have the chance to see high quality boxing on the undercard of the Light Heavyweight unified World Championship between Sergey Kovalev and Jean Pascal at the Bell Centre in Montreal on March 14th. Main Events and InterBox are happy to unveil the undercard fights that will complete this exciting evening.
A Sorel-Tracy native, David Théroux (5-0-0, 3 K.O.) is the youngest rookie of the InterBox stable. At the Bell Centre, he will fight Lukasz Janik (13-9-1, 7 K.O.) in a 4 round matchup. This isn’t Janik’s first visit in Montreal. He fought Ulysse Junior and pushed Steven Butler to the limit in December. Théroux will try to win his 6th consecutive fight, which would be his 2nd with InterBox after signing a three year deal in December.
The Russian boxer Dmitry Mikhaylenko (18-0-0, 7 K.O.) only made his North American debut a year ago. He will come in Montréal with one idea in mind: winning in order to stay undefeated. His opponent has yet to be determined.
Bogdan Dinu who has a record of 12-0-0, 8 K.-O., will also be a part of this night in a 8 rounds fight. His opponent will be announce in the next few days.
Ulysse Junior vs Miguel Antoine
The promising Ulysse Junior (5-0-0, 3 K.O.), who is still undefeated in five bouts, will try to keep his perfect record in an eight round fight versus Miguel Antoine (17-1-1, 9 K.O.), a competitive boxer from Barbados with an excellent record and much more ring experience than the young Ulysse.
The gentleman Nadjib Mohammedi (37-3-0, 22 K.O.), who gracefully accepted to let Jean Pascal take his place for Kovalev’s IBF title, will face Lee Junior Campbell (8-1-0, 4 K.O.). This bout will be Mohammedi’s first fight under the orders of the excellent trainer Abel Sanchez. Sanchez is also the trainer of highly rated World champion Gennady Golovkin. These ten rounds will be an excellent test and will help develop chemistry between Mohammedi and Sanchez.
After a pause to take care of a health concern, Dierry Jean is ready to get back in the ring. He doesn’t know who will be his opponent but that’s not what will stop him. The Eye of the Tiger boxer can’t wait to come into the ring to the Bell Centre roars and only desires one thing: To renew with ring action in order to win.
On January 14th, Main Events and InterBox announced the undercard bout between Steve
Cunningham (28-6-0, 13 K.O) and Vyacheslav Glazkov (19-0-0, 12 K.O.). Cunningham, a 38 year old with an 18 years career in professional boxing, will be fighting on HBO for the first time.
Glazkov, who’s still undefeated, will try to protect his perfect record. The winner of this fight will become the mandatory challenger for the IBF Heavyweight title currently in the hands of Vladimir Klitschko (63-3-0, 53 K.O)
