Roy Jones Jr. has withdrawn from his fight next week.

The former four-weight world champion had been due to face Tony Moran at Aintree Equestrian Centre.

Jones Jr. was set to come up against the Liverpudlian on September 12.

But the decision was made for the Floridian to pull-out of the vacant title clash — which had the MBC International and WBFed International titles at stake — after he failed to show up at the airport for his flight to the UK.

He has been pictured on social media for the majority of the past seven days attending media events in Russia, with VB Promotions being told that the 46-year-old has secured a world title shot.

And due to the extenuating circumstances, the event has been moved.

Now, VB Promotions will take the show — minus the main event — to the Olympia in Liverpool on the same night.

“I’m extremely disappointed and saddened by the whole thing,” said promoter Stephen Vaughan.

“We had invested a lot of money and time into this event, as we wanted to make it a great occasion for the fans and the game alike.

“But sadly, it wasn’t to be and legal advice is to be sought surrounding the circumstances in which it has happened.”

The Olympia show will still feature Tony Moran, but will now be topped by Paul Economides’ WBFed Inter-Continental super bantamweight title clash against Prosper Ankrah and flanked by Tasif Khan’s first title challenge as he battles Isaac Quaye for the vacant WBFed International super flyweight title.

A fully supporting undercard, which includes Russian super bantamweight sensation David Agadzhanyan and local favourites Nick Quigley, Ryan Vaughan & Ryan Moorhead among others, will complete the stacked 16-fight card.

Tickets for ‘The Show Must Go On’ are priced at £40 (balcony), £60 (floor) and £75 (ringside) and will be available by phone on 0333 200 0905.

Those who require a refund on tickets purchased for ‘RJJ Legend’ should go to their original point of sale.
