McKENZIE & McCALLUM EXPLODE AT HEAD TO HEAD

Leon McKenzie’s pre-fight head to head with John McCallum in anticipation of their British Super-Middleweight title eliminator at York Hall, Bethnal Green turned into an angry confrontation after McCallum brought up issues very personal to the McKenzie family.

The video footage had to be censored and this grudge match could well be fight of the night in what is probably the best non TV card in Britain in a very long time. “We never stop” Promoted by Goodwin Promotions and Steve Goodwin this promises to be the best value for money show anywhere.

Scheduled to start at 3.30pm and finish around Midnight this card has an English title, two Southern Area titles a British eliminator and an English title eliminator with a great support card.

Goodwin Boxing’s Cinderella man Lawrence Bennett takes on holder Matty Askin for the English Cruiserweight title. Bennett is a massive underdog in this David v Goliath clash but you should rule out Bennett at your peril.

Former professional footballer Leon McKenzie has an amazing life story and he takes on Edinburgh’s John McCallum in an eliminator for the British Super-Middleweight title. Both boxers are undefeated in 7 fights and this is a real grudge match and is a fight not to be missed.

There are two Southern Area title fights on the bill. Freddie Turner defends his Light-Middleweight crown against Brentwood’s Kris Agyei-Dua. Their first clash remained unfinished after an accidental clash of heads. Turner is a warm favorite but this is Agyei-Dua’s fourth attempt to try to win a title that has always been his aspiration to win. Another Cinderella story?

Floyd “Pacman” Moore competes for the vacant Southern Area Lightweight crown against Danny Carter from Gloucester.

“Smokin” Joe Mullender is one of the most exciting Middleweight’s in the country and he takes on Ben Davies from Yorkshire in an eliminator for the English Middleweight title.

If that was not enough there is a superb support cast.

We feature the ring return of “Macho Man” Wadi Camacho. The foremr Prizefighter winner has recently signed with the Goodwin’s and has an International contest at cruiserweight.

We are delighted to welcome back to York Hall Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton and the Upton Clan consisting of Pauly and Sonny who all have 6 round contests. Ricky will be in the corner with them.

Matt McCarthy (13-1) is making rapid strides at Welterweight under his excellent trainer Terry Coulter. Matt takes on the unbeaten Irtishman Casey Blair over 6 rounds in what is a real 50./50 fight.

One of the UK’s most exciting Super Bantamweights Josh Kennedy (3-0) appears moving up to 6 rounds. The confidence shown in Kennedy is that he is taking on Ghanain Isaac Owusu (23-9) who has mixed at a very high level.

Ryan “Crash bang” Taylor makes his return to the ring after a shock defeat last time. Taylor is determined not to be derailed in his title aspirations and takes on the tough Daniel Bazo from the Czech Republic.

Ollie Pattison (1-0) is a light Heavyweight with massive potential. Trained by his father Mark, Ollie is a future star of British boxing and has his second paid contest.

Another future star is 18 year old Lightweight Bradley Smith who has his second pro outing.

Three up and coming Cruiserweights feature Louie Darlin (2-0) Ossie Jervier (1-0) and Nick Parpa (1-0). All have 4 round contests.

Peter Akubuko makes a long awaited return to the ring and has a 4 round contest. Pete won his first contest and this Is number 2.

The card is completed by Jimmy Cooper at Super-Featherweight and Charlie Duffield who is making his debut at Light-Heavyweight.
