JEFFREY FONTANEZ HEADLINES PUERTO RICO VS MEXICO RIVALRY CARD AT THE BELASCO

Jeffrey Fontanez 16-1 12KO’s of Caguas, Puerto Rico looks to continue winning in a classic Puerto Rico versus Mexico matchup as he takes on tough Mexican Marvin Quintero 27-6 23KO’s of Tijuana Mexico. Fontanez won in his last outing via first round KO in a bounce back fight after suffering his first and lone defeat to Gilberto Gonzalez.

Having made changes to his entire team Fontanez said “After the loss, we took time off to make adjustments, and we changed or team and staff- then we got the knockout after, so we are feeling good to be back.”

Quintero- whose biggest fight was a split decision loss to the hard-to-watch Miguel Vasquez (for the IBF lightweight title) is no slouch and a major step-up in competition- about who Fontanez said “ we know his style and we made the proper adjustments in camp, we’re ready.”

The Puerto Rican fighter that likes to swim and play basketball relishes the rivalry between Puerto Rico and Mexico saying “I love these fights, I’ve been watching boxing since I was a kid- now headlining and having my hand raised against a Mexican will be the best feeling, I’m conditioned to go ten full rounds.”

Fontanez takes on Quintero this Friday at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, the fight will be aired on Estrella TV in Spanish and streamed live via RingTV.com.
