Dereck Chisora is now a free agent.
The former world title challenger and British, Commonwealth and European heavyweight champion will no longer work with, or be promoted by, Queensberry Promotions or its head honcho Frank Warren.
Chisora has fought only twice since his retirement defeat at the hands of future world title challenger Tyson Fury last November, but it has been revealed in a statement that Warren –– who engineered his WBC world title challenge against Vitali Klitschko in 2012 –– has ended his association with the 31-year-old.
He stopped Beka Lobjanidze inside 30 seconds on his return in July at London’s SSE Arena, Wembley, before returning to the same venue in September –– on the undercard of Frank Buglioni’s failed WBA title challenge against Fedor Chudinov –– as he laboured to a 10-round victory over Marcelo Luiz Nascimento.
It remains to be seen what Chisora’s next move is, but one thing is certain: it won’t involve Warren or Queensberry.
