LAS VEGAS: Saul Canelo Alvarez 48-1-1 34KO’s and Gennady Golovkin 37-0 33KO’s both fighters make the middleweight limit of 160 pounds to setup the most anticipated middleweight matchup of this generation.
“Im ready I know he’s ready the time for talking is over” said Alvarez to RingTV.com’s Jess Rosales. “I’m going to give big gift, for everybody no more talk” Golovkin said to RingTV’s Beto Duran.
Co-mian event fighter Joseph JoJo Diaz Jr. 24-0 13KO’s made the 126lb Featherweight limit while late substitute opponent Rafael Rivera 25-0 was over one pound at 127.
Super Bantamweight Randy Caballero 24-0 14KO’s weighed in at 121 while opponent Diego De La Hoya came in at 122 for his first real step up in competition level. Caballero pressed his forehead to De La Hoya’s during the face off, prompting a shoving match that had Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins jumping in to stop.
