MGM are very pleased to announce their latest signing; this time in the shape of the one and only Billy Joe Saunders. The current European, British and Commonwealth middleweight champion has signed a three-year management contract with MGM.
On the cusp of his world title fight on 19th December, Billy Joe Saunders is keeping his eyes on the prize not only for this fight but beyond. “I first came across MGM when I was training for the Eubank fight,” said Saunders “it really caught my eye, not only do they have the best facilities and training programmes. They can ́t do not enough for you and its the same for everyone, I was really impressed with everything they have done for non champions and the youngsters.”
“Everything I have asked for has been delivered, so now it is my job to get the title and then we sit down and go from there.”
Saunders is currently training at MGM Marbella with his trainer Jimmy Tibbs in preparation for the fight of his life; the WBO world middleweight title against Andy Lee. Despite the signing Saunders will continue to surround himself with his same team. “Boxing is a lone sport,“ he said “you need to surround yourself with good people. MGM is my home of boxing, its the best place to isolate myself and get on with the job.”
When talking about the signing Saunders wanted to thank MGM, Frank Warren and his team for their support.
MGM Management are delighted to have signed Billy Joe Saunders on a three- year management contact. “We believe he will become a world champion this month,” they said “and continue to reign at middleweight for a number of years on massive PPV fights in the UK and US.”
Daniel and Billy became friends from Billy having his training camps at MGM Marbella and both parties were impressed with how each other go about their business.
MGM Management said “He has a fantastic coaching team around him in Jimmy and Mark Tibbs and Frank Warren has brought him to a world title shot. We hope to work closely together with all parties to deliver the best for Billy Joe Saunders.”
