Andrew Selby got his professional career off to a flyer with a stoppage victory.
The Barry puncher ended the challenge of the heavily overmatched Haji Juma inside four rounds at Newport Leisure Centre on a Sanigar Boxing card, which was televised live and exclusive on Eurosport.
Selby, the younger brother of IBF featherweight champion Lee, had his Tanzanian opponent down in round one of his scheduled six-round maiden paid outing and was the boss in the ring from start to finish.
Juma, who was 15-7-5 (7) going into the fight, looked too small and Selby just looked the bigger, better, classier man in there and so it proved.
Showing flashes of the style deployed by aforementioned brother Lee, Andrew looked cool, calm and collected under the bright lights of the pro stage and it appears that he has a lot to give.
The finishing shots in the fight were fast, hard combination punches that Juma had no answer to.
Selby looks to have the world at his feet at this early stage of his career, looking like a 15-fight pro rather than a one-fight newbie.
Exciting times ahead for the Selby family and, on this showing, particularly for Welsh boxing as a whole.
